We were able to work with the Greater Des Moines Partnership on their Connect 2 Business program (C2B). Our goal was to connect local high school students with future career goals in Central Iowa, and what they need to do to reach those goals. We created 10,000 entertaining comic books to effectively communicate what high shcoolers should be preparing for right now.
...continued: Here is the inside look at one of the many panels of this comic book. All scenes reflected a particular area in Central Iowa. (Fritz is in the John & Mary Pappajohn sculpture park!)
...continued: Here is the Connect 2 Business logo. (We actually developed the logo too. Do you see the bridge?)
We had the privilege of working with Accumold in Ankeny, Iowa, to create a new oversize brochure. Our goal was to create something sophisticated, but unique, so an engineering demographic would actually read it thoroughly. Accumold allowed us to use a super thick paper stock (#110) to really set this project apart. (Seriously, this brochure is amazing!)
Continued: Here is the inside of the Accumold brochure. We call it cluttery-clean. (We like the sketches that "extend" the photos.)
We worked with West Liberty Foods on a national magazine ad. WLF provides pre-sliced meat for deli owners (and a lot more). The goal was to attract new customers by simply stating the facts. Because every other ad in this publication was busy and cluttered, we decided to highlight three points and simplify the visuals.
Brady Dental Care has been around for more than 30 years and they aren't slowing down. With their recent expansion and new building, they decided it was time for a brand update. We created a traditional brand package but combined a modern feel that looks to the future. The paper is Neenha's #120 Sundance line. It is FSC Certified and 30% post consumer.
Typical dental appointment cards are boring and easily forgettable. Our goal for Brady Dental Care was to create a fun (and light-hearted) way to remind patients their next appointment is coming up. "Fun" is more memorable for the patient and they are less likely to miss their appointment.
We created and oversaw the installation for this monument sign. The sign has a unique light diffusion effect at night. During the day, the "punch-out" logo allows the sun to cast different shadows depending on the hour of the day or season.
The Transitions logo concept was created for a substance abuse recovery center in the Twin Cities. The logo emphasizes the hurdle they must overcome, and shows that lighter or easier times are in their future.
The Overbite logo concept was created for a new "and off the wall" restaurant in Minneapolis, MN. Sadly, this restaurant never launched, but we liked it so much we have given it a permanent home on our site.
We were excited to create a new logo for Sheeder Famly Farms in Iowa. A true famly farm, they run an honest business and are an all natural, free-range farm. The quality and taste of their product is.... well, let's just say there is no proper word in the English language that describes how delicious it is. (We know, we got free samples!)
Shibumi Creative Works is a firm created by design thinker, Matthew E. May. Matt is a widely successful and world-renowned speaker / author who has been featured in too many publications to list. The logo illustrates the organic nature of creative problem-solving and explosive potential of new ideas.
Limu Coffee is a Minneapolis-based coffee brand that is simply what their tag line says: true Ethiopian flavor. Their amazing coffee demands a unique logo. We created the logo imagery from the traditional Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony to illustrate their true Ethiopian roots. Their owner even hails from Ethiopia!
Lunch Buddies is an incredible organization. They pair students with adult mentors. These mentors take the students to restaurant sponsors who pledge to give one free meal to the child when their mentor purhcases a meal. This is a great opportunity for these kids. Our logo for Lunch Buddies is a simple and fun idea featuring a sandwich that makes up the two D's in the center.
We also develpoed a website for Lunch Buddies. The site is fun, simple and provides all the necessary information for future / interested volunteers. The site's main page updates automatically as they update their twitter status.
Encenue is a revenue-driven hospitality profit company based out of Rochester, MN. They focus on upsell techniques and better sales strategies for hotel front desk staff. We created a straightforward and professional site for them with fun visuals to keep the reader engaged. (They have an exhaustive focus!)
We developed a splash page for the Central Iowa March of Dimes, High Heels for High Hopes event. The site was meant as a landing page for donors / sponsors and attendees. Although we didn't create the logo, we developed the dynamic site with a bit of drama in mind. (It was a fashion show, for goodness sake.)
Kum & Go had a uniqe goal for us. They needed to attract clicks on HawkeyeSports.com for their new drink promotion. The goal was to set our ad apart from all the clutter on the page. We created a color scheme to separate the ad and added subtle animation to make it pop. (click here to see the animation)
Here is a look at the other at we created for Kum & Go. (click here to see this animation)
We had the opportunity to work with CDS Global to create an ad for an international magazine. The ad appeared in the UK and Australia. Our goal was to separate CDS from a new competitor that had just entered the market. We did this by focusing on new timeline idea to focus on CDS stability and strength. (We never got a copy of the print version, but this is a digital render.)
The Holiday Inn, Houston had just come off a major renovation, and needed to sell their newly remodeled event space in a local wedding magazine. Our goal was to highlight the space photos without a "scrap book" look. We created an elegant black to seperate this ad from the other cluttery / colorful ads in the magazine. (We never got a copy of the print version, but this is a digital render.)
